Description / विवरण | Siva as Bhikshatana murti standing slightly inclined towards right. The head is decorated with jatas dishevelled hair, spread out widely on either side. He has long ear lobes. He has four hands. The two rear hands hold damaru and trident. The front right hand holds a sword, while there is a skull cap in the front left. There is a devotee with dishevelled hair on the right side at the foot, where as there is a coiled serpent on the left. There are two tight necklaces around, on the chest, a thick yagnopavita, a waist band and a beaded katisutra around the loin. The whole image is nude and presents a stout look with sharp curves in the waist.The right thigh is disproportionately thick. Other ornaments include keyuras, anklets and armlets. The face is long and oval in shape. |
