| Description / विवरण | Gaja-vy 257 la motif is commonly used as an ornamental piece in Indian art-architecture. It penetrated into Assam also. It has been used in satriy 257 art and architecture too. This sculpture shows the lion riding on the back of an elephant and touching the head with his four legs. The elephant is seen to be knelling down on the pedestal, beautifully painted with original hengool and haital colour. The colour on the sculpture is vanished. Only the trace of the colour can be seen. No specialty on this art object is seen in this piece of wooden art. The stylized lion s body and also the face are carved out in satriy 257 style. |
