| Description / विवरण | In this relief conch is depicted.Conch is sacred and it is one of the iconographical attributes of vishnu. The water held in conch is considered holy. The expression Samkha is derived from thre root 'sam' signifying purification or pacification of all ills.The relief under reference has a semi-circular top decorated with floral motif.A flat band at the middle part terminates near protruded sides.A deep and curved channel at the centre is noteworthy.The base part is missing.Exterior face has smooth surface.The extant portion may be ascribed to late-chalukyan period. |
