| Description / विवरण | Eight semi-circular niches enclosed with two arched moulding are shown on both faces of this coping stone. Thus, the symbol in the niches are sixteen in number. The symbols in the front face are - A - Floral motif. B - Front elevation of the railing and main gate to the stupa. In front of the gate an inverted lotus is seen from which gems are falling on the ground. C D - Two winged lions sitting with garlands held in their open mouths. E - A relic casket with knobbed lid is seen placed over a cushion. The casket is decorated with the garlands. F G - Two winged lions. H - Floral motif I - Floral motif J - Srivatsa Back side - K - Swastika L - Triratna M O - Nagapushpa N - Nagapushpa a different variety . P - Front of a railing gate of stupa with an inverted lotus. Two grooves are provided on the top face of the coping stone for firming dowels joining adjoining coping stone. The lower or bottom face of the coping stone has seven slots. |
