| Description / विवरण | Nandi Bull is identified as the celestial vehicle of god shiva found installed in the shiva temples facing the linga inside the sanctum or in a monolithic form installed within a seperate mandapa Nandi mandapa either facing the sanctum or the mahadvara.This well proportioned bull is shown seated folding its front two legs backward whereas hind legs are folded frontward.It has prominent hump, ears are folded sideways and decorated with a flower.Eyes are arranged obliquily and the damaged mouth portion appears to be mended recently.It is decorated with a garland of bells which flows behind the hump.A two stranded rope designed hara adorns the neck.The head turned to left accomodates short horns.The foldings of the neck is done artistically and exhibits refined workmanship.May be ascribed to early-chalukyan period. |
