| Description / विवरण | An inscribed hero stone having two registers. The first register at the bottom depicts a battle scene comprising a seated royal figure evident from a parasol held over his head, is attacked by a soldier being watched by a group, some standing whereas others are shown astride horse as well as on elephant.The typical hairdo of people with a tuft on the head is interesting. The upper register is depicted with a pilastered mandapa wherein a defaced figure of a man seated on a throne is shown.His right hand is in abhaya posture and the left hand rests on the thigh. He is flanked by a female chauri bearer each on either side are decorated with ornaments and antariya. The mandapa carries a sikhara motif of the Phamsana order. A three line Kannada inscription in C. 8th -9th century AD characters mentioning the incident, on the intervening border between the registers is noteworthy. |
