| Description / विवरण | The exterior surface of early chalukyan temples are usually decorated with rows of gana reliefs.In this small sculptural fragment head part of a dwarf gana is depicted.His left hand is raised up. Right hand and other parts of the body is missing. His head is tilted to left and the curly hair is tied with a band.Roundish face,puffy cheek,broad nose,thick lips and half closed eyes are other noteworthy features.Left ear is decorated with kundala.On stylistic grounds this relief may be ascribed to early chalukya period. |
