| Description / विवरण | In this high relief a stout and bulky male figure of shivite affinity,standing in sthanaka position is depicted. The three tiered crown is partially damaged. He has a round face adorned with long, pointed moustache. Protruding eyes and elogated eye brows are noteworthy.He is two armed and carries trident in the right hand and left hand is folded and rests on slightly protruding belly.He is bedecked with simple ornaments such as kanthahara,vakshahara, keyura,kankana and nupura.A flat and thick upavita suspends from the left shoulder and passes across the right thigh.The disproportionate features,rigid anatomy and lack of aesthetic qualities indicate that this relief is carved somewhere in the later part of 19th century A.D. |
