| Description / विवरण | In this rectangular slab a high relief of hero is depicted.His face is obliterated.Both legs bent slightly at the knee level, are kept firmly on the ground and the figure is shown side ways.He has two arms. The left arm holds the bow whereas the right hand folded at the elbow is holding the stretched string and and the thick hoisted arrow.His long wavy plait suspends behind the back terminating with a pointed tip. He is decked with ornaments such as karnakundalas,three stranded vakshahara,flat keyura,chennavira,kankana,nupura and padasaras.The thick lower garment is held by katibandha having prominent knot and the frills with wavy edge suspends behind the back and between the legs.A small dagger is shown fixed to kati strands.Depiction of sun and crescent moon on either side of head is noteworthy. On stylistic grounds this herostone may be ascribed to Vijayanagara period. |
