| Description / विवरण | This panel depicts a pair of flying vidyadhara couples in intimate postures and at the centre is a low relief of kirtimukha with multiple beaded strands emanating from its mouth which extends as a border enclosing both reliefs of flying couples.The couple to the left are in a amorous mood kisssing each other and the male is embracing her in left hand whereas female is trying to stop his move by holding his right wrist.Both are shown with matted hair and wear antariya held by a katibhanda.Similarly the couple to the right wearing typical attire are in a playful mood where the female is shown holding the face of male counterpart who is holding her left wrist.Their hair is bound by a circular band terminating with a tuft at the top is noteworthy.All four figures are adorned with ornaments such as karnakundala,vakshahara, and kankana. The legs folded upwards and their fluttering uttariya,lower garments suggests they are air borne. The grace and suppleness depicted are typical characteristics of art work of early chalukyan period. |
