| Description / विवरण | This is head of an female diety probably Jaina goddess Ambica .She is usually shown seated under the phala vriksha normally associated with her representation. In this fragment of head, braided hair is bedecked with fully blown flowers on either side and hairdo is held by a roundish band provided at the bottom. Round fleshy face bearing a placid expression, pointed chin,bow like eyebrows,half closed eyes,sharp lips,exhibit harmonious treatment despite damage to nose and lips.On stylistic grounds this fragment may be ascribed to early chalukyan period. |
