It is identified as attendant figure because he is given a danda, which gives support to him. The figure has a canopy, which is carved out like the leaf motifs. Figure is characterized by short body and wears a peculiar type of headdress, which recognizes the headdress of tribal people of Assam. Elongated earlobes are given and he is depicted as beard man. He is decked with limited numbers of ornaments. His facial expression reveals that he is strictly guarding. The figure is displayed as nude, but his nudity is covered by his hand which holds the danda. The Figure is depicted as high relief and the sculptor powerfully carved out the image from the stone slab, where he was able to express his extraordinary carving ability. |
