Description / विवरण | It is a mutilated male figurine carved out of a granite block in a low relief. Half of the stele is still intact but the corner on the left and the entire lower part of the figure is found to be missing.The male figure is heavily adorned with jewellery such as elongated ear hoops, two sets of Kanthabhushana (necklace) covering his chest part.There are Kankana( bangles) shown on both the wrists. One can also see Keyura (armlet) worn just above the left bicep. The facial features are prominently visible. It is shown with leaf-shaped eyes, dramatically long eyebrows, distinguished mustache, broad nose, a tilak on the forehead, the hair is tied into a chignon bun and two spherical head jewellery can be seen certainly to manage the loose hair waving on either side of the head. The body is in a contoured position facing to his right side with a spear holding with both hands in an angular position and equipped to act. There is band-like mark on the shaft.The pointed end of the spear is found to be broken however, the outline of an already existing arrowhead can be found. The figure is seen to be bare-chested but a knot of the girdle appears on the left side of the waist. |
