Description / विवरण | |
Description / विवरण | It is a figurine of a female carved on a coarse-grained granite boulder in a low relief. There are clamp impressions on the right side of the top edge. The carvings of the image lack sophistication. The figurine is standing on a Samabhanga posture with right leg slightly bent. The facial features except for the eyes, broad nose, defined jawline and a wide smile, the rest are found to be eroded. There is a Tilak on her forehead and her face is slightly turned to her left. Her hair is shown to be waving in the air. Her right hand is folded closer to the chest, the mudra is undecipherable. Due to extreme weathering, whether there is an ayudha or mudra is difficult to identify. She is adorned with circular kundalas, a set of Kanthabhushana covering her entire torso, Kankana on either lower arm. Her crown shown to be a spiked headgear. A prominent Antariya is visibly running in between the thighs. The feet remain intact. Pieces of garment which is hanging loosely is shown behind her back. the figure here is shown draped with a long skirt-like garment covering from waist to ankles. |
