Description / विवरण
The sculpture of Buddhist deity Tara. The deity is well elaborated and ornamented with necklace, earrings, bajuband, amulets, bangle, katimekhla, anklet etc. Goddess is shown wearing lower body cloth which is very well decorated and floral patterns are visible on it. Deity has been shown sitting in ardhaparyanka over a lotus Pedestal holding a lily flower in her left hand while her right hand is in Varada mudra. On the top of the sculpture Chaitya Gawaksha are seen. Various vyalas are also seen on the top of the sculpture. On the base of the sculpture, various deities and worshipers have also carved. on the pedestal elephants and vyalas are also depicted in Stambha prakoshtha. This sculpture is one of the most elaborated sculpture of Tara ever found in the region. It bears a small inscription on the pedestal. On both side of the deity, two Pillars bearing purnaghata are also shown.
