Description / विवरण
Description / विवरण
The broken relief shows two-armed Lakshmī being anointed by two flanking elephants each standing on a lotus issuing form a creeper studded with lotus buds. The goddess wears a top chignon adorned with a beaded hair-band, ear- ornaments, ekāvatī, wristlets, an elaborate girdle supporting the lower-garment and stanotttarīya covering her breast. Her right hand is broken. In her raised left hand she holds a creeper surmounted by a full bloom lotus. The sculpture is remarkable for its plasticity, and contemplative expression of Lakshmī s face.
