| Description / विवरण | Kubera one of the guardian deities is seated with right leg slightly raised upwards resting on the base while the left leg is bent and turned inwards with the foot open. The face is broad with thick lips and chin and on the head is jatamakuta with a circular lump on the top. The hair is braided with locks of hair falling on either side. A prominent feature of this image is its protruding large belly. The ornaments include a tight kanthamala, flowing garland like haras and a long yajnopavita across left shoulder in three strands made of pearls. There is udarabandha. The right hand raised upwards while the left one rests on the knee pointing downwards. The whole image looks stout and short in proportions. On the hind side is a prominent circular disc. Shoulders are decked with keyuras or bahuvalaya. The drapery comprises a lower garment with a broad fold in the centre. |
