| Description / विवरण | Standing Durga as Mahishasuramardhini with four hands. Head dress is jatamakuta with patra and makara kundalas to the ears. The two rear hands hold ankusa and pasa. The front right hand holds a trident placed on the head of the buffalo, while the left rests on her lap. The right leg is raised up and kept on the back of the Buffalo, while the left hangs down freely and rests on the pitha. Decoration includes a thin necklace, keyuras and armlets. The lower part has drapery in the form of a dhoti which falls below the knee level. A halo behind the head is seen prominently. On the hind side, at the foot is faintly seen a lion suggesting Simhavahini Durga. |
