| Description / विवरण | Subrahmanya standing with his consort Valli. He is represented with two hands. The right hand holds Sakti with the thumb and fore fingers and held aloft upwards, while the left hand embraces his consort Valli from behind. He wears a jatamakuta with conical top with the jatas falling on the shoulders on either side. He wears a three stranded tight necklace studded with gems, three stranded yajnopavita and udarabandha in the shape of a thick ribbon. The drapery is a short ardhoruka tied to the loins with loops and mekhala spread around both the thighs and tied with knots and hanging central tassel. On the hind side at the foot is a peacock with raised neck and sharp, pointed beak and well spread out fan and looks back. To his left is his consort Valli. Her right hand embraces the lord from behind, while the left is broken. Her hair is well plaited. She wears tight antharala around the neck above the breasts. She also wears a katisutra below navel and a short loin cloth tied firmly with mekhala and central knot and tassel hanging in between the legs. The garment is tightly fitted which falls up to knee portion. There is a prabhavali all around decorated with foliage patterns. |
