| Description / विवरण | Bronze sculpture showing Avalokiteshwara. The bronze has four arms. The two frontal hands are in the anjali mudra. The right hand at the back holds a rosary and the left one has an eight petalled lotus in it. At the top a small well modelled figure of the Buddha is seated in the yoga mudra. The head of the miniature figure is missing. The eyes are narrow and the mouth long and small. The sculpture seems to have been painted with gold. The traces of the precious metal can be seen on the face and the ears. The ends of the lower garment adhoti rest quietly on the pedestal which is a double petalled lotus symbolizing the universe. |
