| Description / विवरण | A Bhairava with slender moustache and trimmed beard, standing with a bend at the waist and holding Brahma s skull as a begging bowl in his right hand extended to his right thigh in Katya-valimbita posture. The arm on the left side is damaged and missing. The headdress shows a hooded arrangment of the coiffure peculiar to Siva as beggar bhikshastana. The skull cap seems to be clinging to his hands as the texts enjoin. It is said that when Bhairva reached Varanasi, the skull fell from his hands, liberating him from the cusre of having killed a brahmana . |
