| Description / विवरण | The face of the god has been grossly recut and the hands broken. Several attendant figures are also damaged. The god, in udicyavesa, holds two full-blown lotuses, each with a triple stalk. He wears a tall crown, boots and a scarf that falls to the knees and is draped over the arms. To the right and left of the god are attendants holding lotus buds on a long stalk and immediately in front of them are two badly mutilated figures, probably Pingala and Dandi. Next to this group are small female figures, to be identified with Rajni and Niksubha below whom again are two seated pot-bellied figuress, the one to the right being damaged, the one to the left endowed with the face of a horse. On the outermost sides are the Asvinikumaras above whom are the usual vyala and makara motifs followed by goddesses holding bows, undoubtedly Usa and Pratyusa. On the pilasters flanking the god are niches with three-faced Brahmani to the left and Vaisnavi holding mace and discus to the right. On top is a similar niche containing an image of Mahesvari. Flanking it are Vidyadhara couples and eight standing mother goddesses, four on either side. |
