| Description / विवरण | This is a grotesque male head in the round provided with a stand that could have been made to fit into a torso. The big bulging eyes, pock-marks on the cheeks, the flared nostrils and the drooping mouth are some of the peculiar features of this head. It is interesting to observe that the artist took pains to indicate the beard with incised lines on the chin. Despite the archaic nature of its execution, the dissatisfied facial expression and the details of the visage have been carefully rendered, thereby imparting a personalized character to the head. |
