| Description / विवरण | |
| Description / विवरण | A fragment of moulded pottery depicting full-blown flowers on a bar. The bar is further embellished with a creeper with small flowers. Moulded pottery has been found at Tamluk preserved in Tamluk Museum . Chandraketugarh in the collection of Sri G. S. De and from unknown provenance in southern Bengal preserved in the Asutosh Museum of Indian Art . However, in the specimens from Tamluk and the one in Asutosh Museum, the carvings depict narratives. It is thus not surprising that the most important early historical site in Bengal should also yield exquisitely decorated moulded pottery probably used as deluxe ware. |
