| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The hostel building was irrected in 1905 at a cost of Rs. 61,000 -. According to the Gazetteer, the hostel was provided accommodation for 72 students. There were separate dining rooms for the Brahmins and Sudras. The hostel was initially named after Queen Victoria to commemorate her Golden Jubilee and according to the inscription on the wall the building is dedicated to the memory of V. Thavasimuthu Nadar of Porayar, who was one of the chief subscribers to the Victoria Jubilee Hostal Fund. |

The roof is of the Madras terrace type. The building has long verandahs and rooms both in the ground floor and the first floor. Cylindrical pillars are found along the edges of the verandah. Long granite steps lead to the first floor. |
