It lies in area between the flood plain of river Yamuna and Delhi Ridge. Delhi Ridge is a northern extension of ancient Aravalli Range.

The khanqah is attached to the graves lying to its south, which is said to be those of Shaikh Hasan Tahir and his descendants. Shaikh Hasan Tahir lived during the time of Sultan Bahlol Lodi and Sikander Lodi. It is related that one of the brothers of Sultan Sikandar, was his disciple. The present Bijai Mandal complex was ones occupied as a residence by the saint, who breathed his last there in 1503 A.D. and was buried in the neighborhood.

इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The large building stands on a raised piece of ground and consists of a five arched dalan, opening to the north and south, and flanked by a side chamber on the east and west. The building has a further addition on the east, which is almost in ruined condition. The building measures approx. 28 m east to west and 66.75 m north to south. The courtyard is approached through flight of steps via a domed gateway. There is a grave to the south which is venerated and a single mihrab adjacent to the grave.

The enclosure is built of rubble masonry and finished with plaster. Roofing is done by using stone.
