Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The impressive building is square in plan and stands in the centre of a low plinth. It measures 7 sq. m and is a well proportioned domed building. The facade of the building on each of its four sides is broken by an arch recess and has a projection. On each of the north, south and east sides is a doorway enclosed by an arch, which gives access to the interior, while the west wall has an elaborately ornamented central mihrab incised in plaster work. The huge hemispherical dome springs from an octagonal drum which in turn is supported by methods of squinches on the interior and is crowned by a rather large lotus cresting. The spandrels of the arches are decorated by ornamented medallion incised in plaster. It evokes the unique style with octagonal turrets and each of its four corners of the building is flanked with a pair of octagonal turrets. The interior, surface of the walls to the apex of the dome, is ornamented with geometrical designs and Quranic inscriptions incised in plaster. The top edge of the drum and the roof parapet are decorated with a band of floral petal shaped motif incised in plaster. The ceiling of the dome is decorated with profusely ornamented medallion incised in plaster. There is no trace of grave present within the building.
