The mosque was constructed by Miyan Abdullah, son of Illahadad, a resident of Talambahin th Punjab, during the reign of the king Sikandar Shah, son of Bahlol Shah Lodi.

The historical mosque is rectangular in plan and contains 5 mihrab recesses, the central one, which was initially profusely ornamented with Quranic inscriptions in incised plaster being emphasized by flanking minarets and a row of niche shaped panels above it. On the eastern entrance there was an inscription incised in plaster but now disappeared. This place is of historical relevance as well as has a great architectural value. In present the historical mosque has been greatly altered and reconstructed. The mosque has now been extended by adding a concrete ceiling.

The original foundation is built of rubble masonry up to the plinth level rest of the parts is of concrete and marble. RCC Jali has been used as decorative elements. It is finished with plaster and paint work. Marble and red sandstone have been used for roofing and some part of the flooring, the rest of the floor is of marble.
